What is the thing that not only disturbs you but makes you a disturbance? It is always something you cannot deal with yourself. The solution is to get into direct contact with the Lord, and turn your problem over to him.<\/p>\n
The man in Luke 18:41 has a problem he can\u2019t solve: he is blind, and he wishes to see. He knows he needs Jesus, and he shouts for help. \u201c[They] rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more\u201d (v. 39). The man shouts until he is allowed to come face-to-face with the Lord.<\/p>\n
This is what we too must do, whenever we have a problem we can\u2019t solve. People will offer commonsense solutions, but God doesn\u2019t work in commonsense ways; he works in supernatural ways. Don\u2019t deify common sense, and don\u2019t limit God with memories of what you\u2019ve allowed him to do in the past. \u201cI\u2019ve always failed at this and I always will,\u201d you say. \u201cIt\u2019s ridiculous to keep asking God to do it.\u201d If a thing seems impossible, it is the exact thing<\/i> you need to ask for. God does the absolutely impossible.<\/p>\n
What is your impossible thing? Is it to become so identified with the Lord that there\u2019s nothing of your old life left? God will accomplish this for you, if you ask. But you have to come to the place where you believe him to be almighty. When we look to God himself, we discover that doing the impossible comes naturally to him. Then\u2014 finally\u2014we will ask for what we want.
